Individual Treatment
Individual treatment is available for children, teens, adults, and older adults. Frequency of treatment and length of appointments are assessed on an individual basis. Treatment varies from practical solution-based work to intensive insight-oriented therapy. Work with children includes play/art/horticulture therapy as well as talking/listening therapy. Working with older adults may extend to including other family members.

Parent Guidance
Parent guidance is offered for parents who want to explore best practices for their children and teens. Frequently, parent guidance is coupled with individual therapy for children and teens.
Raising children and teens is by no means an easy task. The internet and books provide so many varied views on how to parent. In parent guidance, we will look to understand your individual child and what will work best for him/her. We will capitalize on your strengths in developing comfortable and practical parenting skills.
Couples Therapy
Both premarital and marital therapy are offered to couples who want to explore the differences occurring between them and/or work toward strengthening their relationship. Marriage presents many unanticipated challenges and couples can experience great relief from having a safe place to discuss various issues.
Family Therapy
Both nuclear families and extended families frequently experience challenges navigating their relationships. Family therapy provides an opportunity in a safe and controlled environment for each member to express themselves. Patterns of communication can be strengthened as this work focuses on increasing listening skills and developing positive techniques for expression of difficult topics. Family therapy can be the primary focus of treatment or an adjunct to individual and couples work.
Counseling for Senior Adults
Exploring avenues to a positive approach to retirement is frequently a focus in treatment for many seniors. The challenges differ for each individual and therapy can provide a vehicle to guide a meaningful transition. These years often raise difficult and challenging issues. Caring giving responsibilities, decisions regarding best plans for a spouse or significant other as well as the loss of friends, spouse or a significant other are frequent topics in therapy Each individual needs to create a plan that uniquely meets their individual needs and the needs of their family. Complications are not unusual to develop with children, stepfamilies, and extended family and the decision to meet together as a group may provide an additional avenue for support.
